چکیده
It is imperative to understand the synergetic actions of Melatonin (MET) and salicylic acid (SA) in counteracting drought stress. A pot experiment was performed investigate interactive effects exogenously applied MET SA on morphology, physiology, biochemical characteristics drought-stressed canola (Brassica napus). Two cultivars (Super Faisal canola) were used. (0.1 µM) (0.50 mM) as seed priming foliar spray. Plants exposed severe (45% field capacity) at reproductive stage. Drought stress caused a significant reduction shoot length (19%), plant fresh (15%) dry (17%) biomass, yield (30%), photosynthetic rate (43%), water potential (29%) osmotic (33%) values. Increased activity free amino acids (20%), total soluble sugars (5%), different antioxidant enzymes like catalase (27%), peroxidase (23%), superoxide dismutase (20%) ascorbate (35%), recorded under drought. Seed application reduced negativity Priming seeds with MET, well spray, most effective treatments, showing growth criteria (22% increase height, 46% 40% biomass), components (49%), (54%) (28%), endogenous (16%) content. Super cultivar showed better than canola. Study that has induce resistance enhance plants'

Adaptation and defense responses are the consequences of exposure to drought stress in plants. Salicylic acid (SA) as a natural signaling molecule poses a significant impacts on various aspects of plant growth and development. This study investigates the effects of SA on carotenoids content, lipid peroxidation rate and antioxidant enzymes activities. A pot experiment was conducted using a facto...

Drought as the most important problem of agricultural development in Iran is one of the main obstacles in the production of agricultural products. Because the global approach to the production of medicinal plants is effective in improving the quantity and quality of the substance, today the use of salicylic acid as one of the plant hormones in increasing plant resistance to stresses such as dro...

Lippia citriodora H.B.K. is a valuable medicinal plant of Verbenaceae family. This study was calculated to evaluate potential role of salicylic acid (SA) in diminish the harmful effects of drought stress on L. citriodora plants. SA (0.5 and 1 mM) was used to L. citriodora plants grown under stressed (5, 10, 15 and 20% PEG) and unstressed conditions. Fresh weight (FW) and relative water content ...
